"My first Birth Story"

September 24, 2003

Hey readers! I'd tell you first that even though  my English is still not very good I still want to share this stories to everybody. Hope you understand my English and grammar usage. I'll try to make it short coz I know somebody out there don't like to read long stories. Well, my first birth story begins...

It was Wednesday morning when I started feel pain in my back. That time I was just frying chopped potatoes for lunch coz didn't feel eating a real meal. That day my husband went to work coz were not sure it was true labor so I stayed in the bed and ate while watching Philippine Channel. Before my husband left to work he told me to time my cramps and call my doctor whatever happens so I did time my contractions and it was 10 minutes apart and the pain gotten  intense . Then it surprised me when I felt my water brook so I got panic and nervous. So I called my OB-GYN and she told me to go ahead to the hospital. It was good timing coz my brother in law was home and I told him my water has broken so he called my husband and letting him know we're headed to the hospital. When we got there it was like 5 pm then I waited my husband and was glad he came sooner than I thought. There I started complain the pain in my back I asked my husband to rub it so he did.  I was very thankful to him even though he was having pain on his foot he still comfort me and keep standing. The only thing I kept saying to my husband is the "epidural" I want it right now, where is it? why it took long?. I felt mad and was very impatient of coarse since it gotten very painful but still I got epidural for a long time, the anesthesiologist took long for some reasons I was very disappointed, my husband too. So when I got it I felt better and the doctor let me rest for a while and also waited my fully dilation. I kept praying God to guide me during my delivery. When I was about to sleep the doctor checked me and asked  if am ready and I felt like wanted to rest more but doctor said the baby should come out so then the hard part begun. I started pushing and it was very hard since it was my first time. I prayed and prayed to God to helped me and my doctor kept telling me to push like you're going to the bathroom and still seems like I forgot how. Doctor said am pushing my throat  and face and it's not right. I got headache doing it. So when the doctor told me that if the baby won't come out at this push they would sent me to C-Section so I thought I better tried more hard, so I pushed hard until my baby came out finally Thanks God!. I thought I could not make it but I did. I was thankful to the doctor and to the nurse stuff and specially to God for guiding me and had safe delivery. I was so very happy to see and hold my first baby boy. He got a little scratch in the head from using the forceps. When I had my baby I felt different emotions that hard to explain, I was just so happy and excited. It's different feelings that I ever had before I think all mothers specially new felt the same way. Then I talked to myself that am already a mother! a new Mama. My husband was very happy too to have our first baby of our own. He talked to our baby the first time he holds him. It was really good to see them. I was so thankful to my Love Nathan for being in my side always and comforting me during my hard times.

"My second Birth Story"

May 14, 2005

I started feel cramps on Friday, this day our friends in Mississippi called and let us know they're coming for a visit. Since my husband answered the phone he just told me about it so I said oh really! I was surprised. My husband said maybe you would have baby tomorrow that would be nice  they can see the baby and I said maybe. So then right away I cleaned up the house for their coming coz I would be embarrass if we have lots of mess when they come. By the next day, early morning I continued cleaning while having pain and cramps. Then I felt my pain getting intense and I started pain on my back too so I realized and thought I might in labor and I told my husband but he noticed me too holding my back. My husband and I kept saying they( our friends) might be here during my delivery and we were right. When my cramped gotten intense and it was 7 minutes apart my husband called my OB/GYN since it was Saturday no office only the operator answered and says they would reach the doctor and having to call us but if no call within 30 minutes we'd call them again since my doctor didn't call yet so we did called and told that we're headed to the hospital. So my husband called our friends and give new directions to the hospital, it was exciting. My husband kept saying to me that it's time to go and I answered maybe not because my water didn't brook yet and he said labor is not all the same, I said ya right but. I just thought and concern maybe the hospital would send us back home coz was not sure I was in labor. I was kind of hard headed I kept walking in our yard to our  garden back and forth and checking fruits while holding the pain. My husband was looking for me where am I and when he saw me he brought me a watch to time my contractions but that time my cramped has been very intense and am just being strong until my contractions timed to 5 minutes apart so I told my husband that I can't hold my pain now I need epidural, we need to go. I was complaining my pain in the car and hubby tried to speed up, it was not my husband fault it was all mine. So we got to the hospital like 1 pm when the nursed checked me I was already 6 cm dilated so very close so they didn't sent us home of coarse. The nurse wondering why we didn't come sooner so I answered I was concerned you might send us back home and she says "no specially you are very close to delivery. I keep praying to God to help and guide me. Then a few minutes our friends came and made me glad. Since my friend Jehan is pregnant it was good experience for her and saw my face feeling the pain and all the stuff going on. She was kinda scared too. She had comfort me too, I thank her for that. I had my water brook when the nurse checked me and that was when I was about fully dilated. It was very painful specially when my contractions timed to 5 minutes down to 2 minutes apart. So then after a little while I felt something sharp or what and I made noise so the nurse  asked me if it was contractions and the nurse says let us know if you're ready to push. But you know what? I pushed without telling them then when they heard me pushing everybody came to me and got ready for my delivery. My doctor said oh it won't took long. My husband was beside me comforting me while my friends were waiting outside. I tell you, it was only 5 minutes by pushing when my second baby born! It was fast quicker than my first birth but labor is all the same, very painful am not doubt about that. I was very thankful to God for guiding me and having safe delivery. When I hold my second baby seemed like I forgot the pain . Happiness is next after all those pain. The doctor and nurse were proud of me I did a good job and they do too, they were surprised about my delivery. One nurse told me that next time I should come to the hospital early, you know why? because my baby was born before the paper works was done so they had to hurry. So I said ok we'll see. I was very thankful to my doctor and nurse stuff for all their help. They are all nice people. I specially thanks too to my husband Nathan for being in my side during my hard times. One thing I will not forget is when Kyle touched my face at our house when I felt the pain. It made me better when he touched my face and act like he was sorry for me. He was being a good boy while we were at the hospital am sure he was wondering what was going on with me, he didn't understand.

Anyways, I also thankful to our friends Jehan and Bill for coming and Jehan for spending night with me in the hospital. I really appreciate it a lot. Also to all my friends here were visiting us in the hospital, to Susan for bringing me some Filipino foods specially fish soup/tinulang isda. Thanks everyone! We appreciate it a lot.
